WWII Japanese American Internment Museum Dedication / Opening
“Against Their Will”
The Jerome-Rohwer Interpretive Museum & Visitor Center, located inside McGehee’s historic railroad depot – 104 North Railroad St., will open with a dedication ceremony on Tuesday, April 16 at 1:00. The public is invited to attend.
At the Visitor Center, an interpretive exhibit explores the 1940′s history of nearby Rohwer and Jerome, where U.S. Government Internment camps housed more than 17,000 Japanese Americans.
After the grand opening, the museum will be open Tuesday – Saturday, 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Admission is free.
MDACC Bicycle Factory 2nd Relay Event
McGehee Desha Alumni Community Center is sponsoring the 2nd annual Obstacle Course & Relay Rally Event for 2nd – 8th graders on Saturday, April 27, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. The event will be held at McGehee High School parking lot. Registration for participants $10, Tickets $5 for adults, children 7-18 $1 and children under 6 free.
